Costs all inclusive: 450€ (shared double room), 500€ (single room). The rate includes all transports (bus from/to Rimini; ferries), a private visit to St. Mark's Basilica with a professional guide, museum entrance fees, meals and accommodation in single/double room.

September is high-season in Venezia and the expenses for accommodation may vary. We strongly encourage potential participants to express their definite interest in the field trip not later than 09 May, 2016.

Abstract
The goal of this field trip is to enjoy a short visit of Venice and its lagoon and discover two important classes of its building and decorative materials, marbles and glasses, through dedicated visits to two important monuments (the Church of San Donato and the basilica of Saint Mark) and two glass factories, one specialized in mosaic fabrication (Orsoni) and one in the making of artistic glass (Seguso). These visits will take place in the first half-day; the second half-day is dedicated to a classical tour among some of the most important sites and monuments of Venice.

16-set: transfer Rimini - Venice

          12.30: lunch
          14.00: visit to the Orsoni's mosaic glass factory
          15.30: short visit to the Ghetto and departure by boat for Murano
          16.00: visit to the church of San Donato, its marbles and mosaics
          17.30: visit to the Seguso glass factory
          18.30: departure by boat from Murano, short tour of the central eastern lagoon and arrival to the St. Mark's square
          19.30: reserved visit to the St. Mark's Basilica, its marbles and mosaics

           9.30 meeting in front of the St. Mark's Basilica for an introduction to the monuments of the St. Mark's square
          10.30- 13.30 : visit of the Santa Maria dei Miracoli Church, of the SS. Giovanni e Paolo Basilica (the Pantheon of the Venetians) and of the Scuola Grande di San Marco.
           Lunch in the area

Afternoon free for return to Rimini or departure from Venice (VCE international airport is at 1 hour boat from the hotel or at 30 minutes by bus from Piazzale Roma).
