mrk2016

The MRK2016 school is a satellite event of the 2nd European Mineralogical Conference emc2016.

The school will be organised by Rainer Abart (University of Vienna) and Wilhelm Heinrich (GFZ Potsdam) and will take place at the University of Vienna from 19 - 23 September 2016.

The school addresses methods of experimentation and instrumental analysis as well as the theoretical foundations for analysing reaction kinetics. Worked examples from experiment and nature will be presented to illustrate recent advances in our understanding of geo-materials properties and behaviour. The program is subdivided into four topical fields starting with fundamentals and moving towards applications.

The 2016 edition of the AIC International Crystallography School, entitled "Polymorphism, stability and phase transitions in crystals: theory, experiments, applications" will be held in Rimini, Italy, on 7 to 11 September 2016.

The School is organized by the Commission on Crystallographic Teaching of the Italian Crystallographic Association (AIC) in partnership with the Italian Society for Mineralogy and Petrology (SIMP), as a satellite event of the European Mineralogical Conference emc2016.

AICS2016 will address several aspects of crystallographic analysis of structural phase transitions, including basics of thermodynamics, kinetics and atomistic mechanisms ruling the processes. Perovskites will be the main teaching tool of AICS2016, with examples spanning from mineralogical to hybrid organic-inorganic samples. Polymorphism in molecular compounds will also be discussed, with the aim of giving a unitary view of mechanisms and terminology. Therefore, the School is mainly directed to PhD and young researchers working in the fields of Earth sciences, chemistry and materials science, and is as well of interest for metal-organic chemists and molecular crystallographers.

Tree Menu represents menu items in clear tree-like hierarchy, which is very appropriate for indexing menu. By default all submenu items are collapsed until you select the parent menu item.

To setup Tree Menu you just need to configure module parameter “Menu Class Suffix” appropriately and the menu system will take care of the rest.

Food for good

food for good

As of 2015, Palacongressi di Rimini offers its clients the opportunity to recover leftover food from their events and donate it to charities . Palacongressi endorses Food For Good - from meeting to solidarity, an initiative born out of a collaboration between Federcongressi, Food Bank and Equoevento. Every year in Italy, over 6 tons of food go to waste; at the same time, there are 10 million people living in poverty, 6.3 of which in conditions of absolute poverty, including 1 million children between the ages of 0-5 years. The contribution of organisers and exhibitors at the Palacongressi is therefore of major importance: with no additional costs and in agreement with Summertrade chefs, the catering company of the Rimini Fiera Group and official partner of the Palacongressi, menus are planned which are suitable both for the guests' needs and for the conservation and transport of any leftovers, resulting in a worthy act of social responsibility for the local area. The results and the feedback we have had in the first months of the project speak for themselves. Contact our staff for more information: always ready to help guide your choice.  The association chosen by Palacongressi is Opera Sant'Antonio di Rimini, a group of volunteers that manages the city's soup kitchen.
